Why do we focus on English Education?
Updated: Jul 28, 2020
English is the language of global business, media, science, and the internet. Thus, learning English is a valuable opportunity for Asian students in unfortunate circumstances to engage with the rest of the world and create opportunities for themselves.
What problem are we addressing?
The problem is that the education system in rural China is underfunded and corrupt. Children are not receiving the education they need to function in the modern world, resulting in a cycle of poverty and subsistence farming.
How are we addressing it?
Our solution is to train our volunteers to teach weekly online English classes at 4 underprivileged schools using our specially designed curriculum. By providing our students with English fluency, they will gain a significant asset to both their personal lives as well as their careers.
Currently, our curriculum team is working to create quality content to be presented in a fun and engaging way to our students. Our teaching team is made up of passionate volunteers who are fluent in English and Mandarin, and they work with the curriculum team to become the best teachers they can be for their respective schools. Stay tuned for for engaging content on the way!
